Prominent Newbury Street gallery seeks a part-time, administrative intern. Responsibilities will primarily include administrative and organizational tasks such as maintaining the physical gallery space/painting inventory/archives, assisting with marketing initiatives and exhibition events. Organizational and writing skills, previous customer service experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are a must; some heavy lifting may occasionally be required.
The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in art history, preferably enrolled in his/her third or fourth collegiate year, or pursing an advanced academic degree, and will have a serious interest in the gallery field. The internship position requires a commitment of at least 10-15 hours per week, ideally including Saturdays, for at least 3 months. This internship is a wonderful opportunity to witness the behind-the-scenes goings-on of a prestigious fine art gallery and be involved in a wide variety of daily tasks!
