Green Street Studios is seeking an enthusiastic programming intern to join the team for the fall term. The intern will work with the GSS administrative team, under the direction of the Programming Director. A strong candidate would be a college student or recent graduate with experience or demonstrated interest in the arts or arts administration. The focus of the internship is programming, though the role also includes general support of operations at GSS.
A successful intern will:
Assist with planning and execution of fall programming at GSS (classes, workshops and special events) at GSS.
Support GSS faculty in managing sign-ins for their weekly classes, including troubleshooting.
Work well both independently and collaboratively with a small team of dedicated employees.
Be willing to “get their hands dirty” and assist with a wide range of tasks required to maintain operations at GSS.
Represent GSS to the community and assist dancers, artists and patrons in their use of the space.
Be able to commit 10-15 hours per week from date of hire through the end of Fall. Some weekend and evening availabilty is required.

Green Street Studios is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated to supporting dance and the performing arts. Every year, GSS welcomes over 5000 artists and community members to our Central Square studios and beautiful Black Box Theater for performances, classes, rehearsals, artist residencies and more.
GSS offers affordable space for artists to rehearse in our three large studios; two with wall-to-wall Marley on sprung floors and one with a specially made percussive floor perfect for Tap, Flamenco and Irish Step. Our largest space converts into a stunning Blackbox Theater, appreciated by performers and audience members for it's intimate ambiance, perfect for enjoying the work of artists from Boston and beyond.
Over it's nearly 30 year history, GSS has been home to several of Boston's most recognized choreographers and dance and theater companies. Our inspiring teachers offer weekly instruction for all levels of experience in Modern, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, Bollywood, Flamenco, Balkan, Belly Dance, Hawaiian Dance, Vogue and more.
GSS was founded in 1991 by Ruth Birnberg, Paula Josa Jones, Cheri Opperman, Marcus Schulkind, and Pam White. The collaborative and creative nature of their endeavor lives on, nearly 30 years later, in our vibrant community of dancers and artists. Walk through the long hallway at GSS on any given evening, and you will encounter professional and amateur dancers and artists of all genres, exploring the arts, creating, and performing in our unique space.
