Arlekin Players Theatre is seeking a part-time Stage Manager for our upcoming production of Chekhov's “The Seagull" opening on November 8th, 2019. The rehearsals begin October 8th in our theater in Needham MA, on weeknights and weekends. The Stage Manager’s responsibilities will be to manage production, facilitate rehearsals, organize lighting, sound and video team, documenting all directorial notes, and maintaining directorial blocking with actors. The Stage Manager will oversee all operations related to the stage management of the show and ensure the high level functioning of operations both in the rehearsal room and the theatre.
Assist with scheduling of actors and technicians for rehearsals and performances, and facilitate communication among all members of the production team.
Supervise cast during all rehearsals and performances.
Attend Auditions and/or Callbacks as mutually agreed upon with Producer.
Assemble and maintain the Prompt Book which is defined as the accurate playing text and stage business, together with cue sheets, plots, daily records, etc., as necessary for the technical and artistic operation of the production.
Maintain daily contact (or at least on each rehearsal day) with the entire production staff in order to communicate all of the various information pertaining to the production. Responsible for the creation and distribution of the Daily Rehearsal Report and the Performance Report. These reports serve as a two-way communication between all members of the production staff.
Run console(s) for the final dress rehearsal and all performances as needed.
Maintain the artistic integrity of actor’s performances in accordance with the Director’s vision.
Restore the space to its original condition after rehearsals/performances. This includes restoring any furniture, removing tape, signage, and other rehearsal materials. Also responsible for striking management materials from the booth and backstage during the strike of the show.
Additional duties commonly associated with the role of Stage Manager may be assigned in addition to the aforementioned.
Rehearsals will take place on weeknights and some weekends in APT studio in Needham, MA

Tech: Nov. 2 - Nov. 7
Final Dress Rehearsal: Nov. 7
Performances: Nov. 8-Dec. 8 (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays)
Part-time, non-equity position. Stipend is offered.
1-2 years of stage management experience
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Positive attitude and a sense of humor
