Manager, Visitor Experience


The Manager, Visitor Experience is responsible for being an energetic, organized team player with a strong commitment in consistently deliver the highest quality – a 5-star visitor experience to diverse and engaged audiences. The Manager will be responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising the Visitor experience floor staff, who are responsible for delivering high-quality guest experiences. The Manager plays a key role in the daily operations of the Museum leading by example, acting as a coach and troubleshooter, solving issues as they arise for both the floor staff and visitors to ensure that the Museum delivers extraordinary learning experiences for children and their families. The Manager interacts and works across all departments in the Museum on a daily basis that includes Educators, Membership, and Facilities.

The Museum is looking for candidates who posse a passion for creating extraordinary learning experiences for children and families. Foster a positive, productive work environment, and a dedication to creating and maintaining a strong customer service culture. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in an inter-generational, multicultural setting.


Required skills: 5+ years’ experience working at a cultural attraction or child-centered environments or in similar environments in customer service or retail. 2-3 years of supervisory experience required. Prior cash handling experience and knowledge of POS systems required; BA/BS and Gateway Galaxy experience, preferred. Fluency in a second language, desirable.

Other Factors: Must be able to work flexible schedule which will include nights, weekends, Destination Events, vacation weeks & holidays. Uniform/dress code required. Lots of walking and/or standing, occasional lifting of materials for programs; physically demanding. Fast paced, highly sensory, stimulating work environment due to constant interaction with other staff and visitors, which includes children.
