LIGHTING & SOUND SHOP MANAGER, College of Fine Arts, School of Theatre

Description:
The College of Fine Arts seeks a Lighting and Sound Shop Manager for the School of Theatre. This position oversees the process of timely, accurate, and high quality, fully executed lighting and sound production elements produced to the high standards of excellence set by the Design & Production Faculty. This position supports approximately nine School of Theatre productions, four Opera Institute productions, the BU Summer Theatre Institute productions and School of Theatre special events including but not limited to the annual Showcase. These productions and events are performed at a wide variety of venues in and out of the BU Booth Theatre and CFA Production Center at 820 Commonwealth Avenue. This position will provide educational training, supervision, and mentorship for Graduate and Undergraduate Design & Production majors, SOT Freshman Core students, and non-theatre majors in their production assignments. The position manages the Lighting and Sound shops of the School of Theatre, manages student and professional personnel, and assists in instruction in lighting and audio crafts and technical skills to the School's Design & Production and Stagecraft students.
Qualifications:

Expertise in standard production lighting and projection practice for live theatre, fluency in lighting projection software including Vectorworks and Lightwright. Expertise in standard production audio practice for live theatrical and studio production. Expertise in audio systems design and implementation. Work schedule will include frequent evenings and weekends as necessary during the course of the academic year.
