Advancement Officer, Donor Relations

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Advancement Officer works with leadership in Advancement and Engagement to design and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for stewardship and donor programs, expanding the programs’ current areas of strength and optimizing new ways of supporting this fast growing organization. The officer will create and execute an integrated stewardship model for NEC which will include stewardship programming, dedications and recognitions, written and digital donor acknowledgements and impact reports. The officer will partner with the annual giving team to develop plans that support retention of annual fund donors.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with Advancement and Engagement team colleagues to design and execute a best-in-class donor relations/stewardship program.
  • Report on stewardship program progress or challenges.
  • Create, plan and implement stewardship events.
  • Work collaboratively with Engagement, Annual Fund, and Leadership Gifts teams to best coordinate all engagement/stewardship activities.
  • Ensure high level, best practice stewardship is executed for all six-figure gifts.
  • Oversee that all leadership donors receive appropriate acknowledgements, adhere to gift reporting and fund or project updates.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 3 years of development experience with focus on developing and executing donor relations or development strategy.
  • Experience developing processes and protocols to monitor timeliness, efficiency and outcomes according to plan.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to employ sound judgment.
  • Experience working with key stakeholders and major donors of an organization.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred.
  • Professional and diplomatic with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast paced and flexible environment.
  • Evening and weekend work along with travel required.
