Historical Interpreters on the Tour of The Freedom Trail are
responsible for safely and effectively leading and entertaining guests through
the most iconic historical locations in Boston. Historical interpreters represent Boston, it’s
past, and historical identity to guests from around the world.
No experience in
necessary, but this position requires quick thinking, passion for education/public
speaking /performing and a friendly demeanor. We provide all necessary training. We also
provide colonial clothing that must be worn while leading tours.
Ability to learn the history of Boston, especially pertaining to the American Revolution
Physical ability to lead a 1.2 mile walking tour for 90+ minutes
Availability on weekends and/or weekdays in the morning and early afternoon
Excellent communication skills

Although this position is located in Boston, all interviews will be held in person at our offices in downtown Salem, MA. We are located within 10 minutes walking of the Salem train station.
