Marketing & Box Office Associate

The award-winning New Repertory Theatre seeks a well-organized and energetic team player to work with the Marketing and Patron Services Team as the part-time Marketing & Box Office Associate. The position will be responsible for the execution of day-to-day Marketing/Communications operations, helping the Marketing and Patron Services Team achieve their goals of acquisition and retention of single- and multi-ticket buyers, and subscribers. The Marketing & Box Office Associate will report to the Communications Director, and work closely with the Patron Services Manager, Patron Services Associate, contracted Graphic Designer, and any interns and/or volunteers.

This position requires 25 hours/week in New Rep’s administrative offices, split between Marketing and Box Office duties as needed. During performance weeks (approximately 21 weeks/year), the Marketing & Box Office Associate can expect to spend approximately 15 hours on box office/house managing shifts, and the remaining 10 on marketing efforts. During off weeks, this position can expect to split the hours between marketing and box office shifts as needed.
The right candidate will be an entry level or early-career professional, who must have a passion for the arts, be proactive, hardworking, organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent people skills.

The marketing responsibilities will include:

· Production Playbills and Support
Collaborate with the Graphic Designer to provide all needs for each production’s playbill (artist bios, letter from the directors, etc.). Provide support for each production, including writing the pre-show announcements for each production, managing the lobby signs and display, coordinating professional photography and writing first rehearsal one-sheets for the company.

· Paid Advertising
Collaborate with the Graphic Designer and Communications Director to coordinate all paid advertising needs (collecting, trading, distributing, etc.)

· Marketing & Sales Strategy
Collaborate with the Marketing and Patron Services team to strategize the targeting, segmentation, and acquisition of patrons and ticket sales.

· Press/PR
Solicit the PR Questionnaire from artists, and write all press releases for productions, events, and Development needs.

· Website Maintenance
Maintain, update, and improve the New Repertory Theatre’s website with goals of organization, ease of navigation, dissemination of information, and inbound marketing.

The box office responsibilities will include:

· Cover house managing shifts when needed

o Supervise volunteer ushers

o Guide patrons to the restrooms and to their seats

o Coordinate with ushers, box office staff, and stage manager to ensure an excellent patron experience

· Cover box office shifts when needed

o Answer calls and all patron questions

o Respond to emails sent to the box office

o Book tickets through phone calls and in-person transactions

· Support the Marketing & Patron Services team with outbound sales efforts, including reaching out to current and potential patrons via email, phone calls, and letters.

Other duties as assigned.

The Marketing & Box Office Associate may be asked to attend New Rep press openings, final dress rehearsals, and/or promotional events. They/she/he will work with the Marketing and Patron Services team to represent New Rep in a professional and welcoming demeanor, and collaborate to achieve our sales and audience goals.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

· A strong interest in theatre/arts administration

· Familiarity with Constant Contact (or MailChimp) and WordPress

· Excellent writing skills

· Precise attention to detail

· Must be very organized and able to complete multiple projects by deadlines

· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

· A professional demeanor

· Excellent customer service skills
