Membership Programs Administrator

Description:

As part of the Museum’s 150th anniversary, the MFA is undertaking new and expanded initiatives to grow and diversify its membership base and redefine membership as a loyalty program. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Membership, the Membership Programs Administrator is a one-year term position that will assist with all aspects of these pilots, programs and activities, with direct oversight over MFA Citizens and all First Year Free Membership Programs.

  • In conjunction with Director of Membership and Assistant Director of Membership, devise engagement strategy for MFA Citizens and all First Year Free Programs, with a goal of increasing engagement and renewals; lead development of events and programs related to MFA Citizens and other First Year Free initiatives; encourage and facilitate invitations to new members to the Museum’s ongoing exhibitions and programs, classes, specific projects, workshops, and shared events
  • Act as primary membership ambassador for MFA Citizens; work closely with staff and volunteer teams to coordinate, track, design, and take part in efforts to increase sign-ups, including maintaining contact information, assisting with regular communications, visiting partner organizations, distributing promotional materials, speaking at partner events or activities, and collecting feedback
  • In conjunction with the Learning and Community Engagement division, serve as one point of connection between Museum and key external stakeholders; support the fostering of relationships and engagement strategies with key constituencies and partners, with key focus on raising awareness in target markets for First Year Free membership offers, MFA events and celebrations; serve as a resource for partner organizations and families
  • As primary liaison to First Year Free initiatives, identify and communicate the evolving needs of new members to ensure a welcoming and engaging environment for all audiences, including but not limited to access issues pertaining to language and culture; support ongoing civic-focused initiatives in the museum’s local community, with an emphasis to those addressing cultural, racial cultural diversity and economic equity disparities
  • Support Membership team in special projects relating to its institutional membership programs that direct invite and impact new and target audiences, including maintaining contact information of University Member, Pozen Community College, and Institutional Pass Members; update information and IDs for frontline staff as needed; support assembling/issuing of relevant program materials
  • Play an active role at MFA events including some night, weekend and holiday programs and offsite events, including naturalization ceremonies, partner events and city wide/regional programs

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One to three years of experience
  • Ideal candidate should be an MFA Citizen (joined the MFA through the program sometime between its launch on July 1, 2018 and date of hire)
  • Experience or interest in working closely with immigrant community and citizenship process
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse groups required
  • Excellent research, written and verbal communication skills required
  • Computer skills, particularly MS platforms, including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Availability and mobility to work remotely, as off-site meetings will occur frequently, many of them on evenings, weekends, and Monday holidays
  • Fluency in English as well as written and spoken Spanish highly desired; ability to provide simultaneous interpretation/and or translation a plus
