Membership Assistant, Events and Programs

Description:

As part of the Museum’s 150th anniversary, the MFA is undertaking new and expanded initiatives to grow and diversify its membership base and redefine membership as a loyalty program. The Membership Assistant is a one-year term position that will provide key support to these piloted efforts through Membership related events, programs, and activities aimed at increasing participation and engagement.

  • Provide administrative and logistical support; execute all membership events; coordinate scheduling and space reservations with internal stakeholders; secure all logistical needs for membership related events, programs and activities, including catering, security, A/V needs, design requests, staffing and event materials
  • Support the Membership Programs Administrator in the execution of events, programs, and activities related to the First Year Free programs, including MFA Citizens and 150th Celebration activities; support related programs and activities as needed outside of Membership, including institutional events and other Audience Development efforts
  • Manage event entry and management into EMS and Trello; ensure all event information is updated and accurate on an on-going basis; manage event attendance reporting
  • Support MFA Associates and MFA Senior Associates in Member tours and related events
  • Serve as primary membership contact for and at all Member events; attend related activities as needed outside of Membership; assist in planning institutional events and activities as needed
  • Provide superior customer service when responding to or dealing with members/visitors via e-mail, by phone, in person, or by mail, and update the Visitor Suggestion Database, as needed


Qualifications:
  • BA/BS
  • One to three years related office experience
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Solid computer skills
  • Strong quantitative skills in order to track budgets
  • Must be able to treat confidential information with discretion
  • Must be detail oriented with ability to multi-task without compromising quality
  • Able to work occasional nights and weekends
