Administrative Director, Tupelo Press
Administrative Director of this award-winning, nationally-recognized,
independent literary press works closely with the Artistic Director, Editor in
Chief, Managing Editor, and Fulfillment Director, overseeing most facets of the
day-to-day operations of organization: serving as point of contact with authors,
production partners, and sales reps; maintaining databases and office workflow
(Excel fluency required); managing staff and interns; tracking book-flow;
producing royalty statements; designing book publicity; and coordinating award
nominations. The Director will coordinate development-drives and donations, and
serve as point of contact for communications to and from the Press. The job
includes facilitating bi-annual catalogue design and production.
Responsibilities include coordinating the Press's participation in book fairs,
especially the annual conference of the Association of Writing Programs.
The ideal candidate will have experience in
website administration (including expertise in WordPress and e-commerce) and fluency in social media best practices. As this job description suggests, Tupelo Press
requires an Administrative Director with significant experience in management
skills. The successful candidate will be the very definition of a dynamic
self-starter, creative problem-solver, excellent communicator, and team-player. Sense of humor required. 35 hour
per week, on site at the Tupelo Press offices in North Adams (this is not a telecommuting job). Salary commensurate with
