Hill House is seeking to hire an energetic, professional, and enthusiastic early childhood art instructor.
At Hill House, we
believe that kids deserve the space to run, play, learn and grow. That is why
we are proud to be the backyard in the city for over 2,000 families by offering
safe, high quality programs, events and outreach activities that enrich the lives
of families living in Boston. Every year we offer over 400 programs and
classes, three summer camps and over 50 community events a year. For more
information go to: www.hillhouseboston.org.
The art instructor will work with a
maximum of eight children and their parents in an art room setting for 20 – 25 hours
a week. The instructor will set up the room and art supplies for the session
and will lead process-based activities, encouraging developmentally appropriate
creativity and growth through different art mediums and projects.
The art instructor
must be a nurturing, mature, and responsible individual who loves to teach art
to children and is comfortable with groups of children ages 1-3 years of age in
the morning while offering guidance and reassurance to their parents or
caregivers as their little ones grow within the ten week session. Afterschool
hours will have children up to 10-12 years old for hour long classes.
The art instructor
will allow young students and parents or caregivers to experiment with
everything our art room has to offer in a creative, supervised setting while
also making connections within our community. This position will help families
in the area respect the process of art from facilitating the first encounter
with paint to encouraging the creative steps taken to complete a project on
their own. The art instructor must work collaboratively with other art instructors
to establish a healthy and organized classroom environment.
We are looking
for instructors who will go above and beyond for our families and who will run
a high quality, creative program. To see more about the classes we offer, check out our fall guide here http://www.hillhouseboston.org/AssetFactory.aspx?vid=72509&dam=1
