The Box Office Assistant (BOA) is responsible for selling tickets to live events and movies, answering phones and providing high level customer service to Cabot patrons. The BOA assists the Box Office Manager in building shows, processing group sales, processing internal ticket requests and other tasks as needed. We are seeking an energetic, positive, highly detail oriented professional who is personable and skilled in guest relations, cash handling and working in a multi-task environment. Experience using Ticketmaster host system preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sell tickets to live events and movies to Cabot patrons during box office hours and live events
Answer phones and questions related to events, ticket sales, membership programs and other general inquiries
Assist patrons with the online ticket purchase process
Assist with customer service issues including but not limited to guests with disabilities
Demonstrate working knowledge of talent and entertainment at the venue as well as venue policies and procedures
Maintain superior customer service and a positive attitude
Perform cash counts, petty cash transactions, and reporting procedures to ensure the proper recording and security of company assets
Assist Box Office Manager with show building, processing internal ticket requests, group sales and other tasks as assigned
Create and maintain Excel and Google spreadsheets
Maintain timely communications with other staff via email and phone
Attend and participate in organization-wide and other meetings as requested.
Improve patron and community relations through active communication and problem-solving efforts. Refer issues to office staff and management as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma with some college a plus
Prior experience in sales and customer service
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a wide range of people and issues while maintaining composure
Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, email, Google apps, etc.
Experience with Ticketmaster host platform preferred
Additional computer skills preferred (Veezi software, POS software, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfort with an environment that can be very fast-paced, or much less so
Interest in and experience with film and live events is a plus
Willingness to acquire knowledge of the organization's history, fundraising efforts, and programming
Required to stand for hours at a time
Required to climb stairs on a daily basis in a building without elevators
