Volunteer Ushers

New Rep strives to dismantle every system, process or structure that would discourage any person from working with us.

Anti-Racism/Diversity Statement: New Rep actively seeks diversity, equity and inclusivity because we know that all people are vital and that their stories are our stories.

New Rep seeks volunteer ushers to support front of house efforts for each performance in the 2019-2020 season.
Ushers are scheduled for each performance in advance, and are assigned tasks by the House Manager. Tasks include, but are not limited to: stuffing programs, scanning tickets, assisting limited mobility patrons, cleaning up the theater before and after the performance, and any other duties as assigned by the House Manager.
In exchange for the expected fulfillment of the entire ushering shift, ushers are issued one complimentary ticket for the performance at which they are ushering. In the unlikely event that there are not enough seats available at that performance, the usher will be issued a complimentary ticket to a different performance of the same production.
Must be comfortable interacting with numerous theatre patrons.

About New Repertory Theatre

Now in its fourth decade, New Repertory Theatre has established itself as one of the Boston area’s premiere theatre companies and has been the professional company in residence at the Mosesian Center for the Arts (formerly the Arsenal Center for the Arts) in Watertown, Massachusetts since 2005. The Center’s two performance spaces (the 340-seat Mainstage Theater and the 90-seat Black Box Theater) have allowed New Rep to expand its programming and flourish.

The mission of New Repertory Theatre is to produce plays that speak powerfully to the vital ideas of our time.

  • Through the passion and electricity of live theater performed to the highest standards of excellence, New Rep seeks to spark community conversations on crucial contemporary issues. Its work expands and challenges the human spirit of both artists and audiences.
  • New Rep presents world premieres, contemporary plays, and classic works in several intimate settings. Its productions are designed to be accessible to all; and New Rep is committed to education and enrichment for learners of all ages, with a special dedication to the creation of innovative in-school programming and outreach to underserved audiences. New Rep embraces theater as the basis for enduring connections with our community and as a springboard for meaningful civic engagement.
  • New Rep is an active advocate for the arts and a major voice in the national dialogue defining the role of theater in our culture.
