Lead and oversee the technical theatre needs of each production.
Work with Senior Creative Arts Director to develop a comprehensive set budget for each production. Ensure productions stay within budget.
Work collaboratively to ensure resources are shared between productions as necessary to help control expenses and make full, appropriate use of existing resources.
Manage all aspects of the set for each production including designing a set flexibly meet the needs of the location, students and the budget. Coordinate and schedule build, painting, strike and clean up to ensure appropriate resources, maximize safety and resources.
Design and coordinate a lighting plan including cue to cue design plan. Support the process from start to finish including hanging lights, a clear prompt lighting script or plan for stage managers and creating and/or coordinating rental items as needed including drop off and pick up.
Manage all aspect of Props for each production including pullin prop items based on the needs of the script and director, collaborate on a timeline for effective rehearsal process, ensure props are restocked/replaced as needed and effectively manage the budget.
Ensure all technical areas and aspects of the production remain clean and well maintained at all times.
Maintain positive communication both inside and outside the YMCA regarding the staff, participants, members, volunteers, and donors.
Maintain inventory and organization of props, sound materials, and construction supplies.
Act as a recognizable community face of the Creative Arts Center providing high quality customer service and connecting new members and participants to the Y.
Proof of previous relevant experience is required upon application.
Ability to use building materials (saw, drill, ect.) to construct and assemble pieces of scenery.
Experience in technical theatre, preferably experience working on youth productions.
