STAGE DIRECTORS, MUSIC DIRECTORS & CHOREOGRAPHERS for CHILDREN'S THEATER COMPANY

Description:

Kidstock! Creative Theater is seeking fun and enthusiastic theater practitioners to music direct, stage and choreograph musicals for children ages 7-14.

You should be high energy, have your own stage presence, and enjoy inspiring children and preteens. This is consistent, episodic work and is great for artists with other gigs as long as they are able to commit to 8-12 week sessions during the school year.


Qualifications:

PLEASE NOTE:  You must have independent, reliable transportation for this position.  This can sometimes involve the need to transport costumes & scenery.

Minimum Bachelor's degree in dance, theater, the arts, education, or similar

Minimum 2 years working experience in a school, camp, daycare, or other setting with children

You should be a creative team player, and know that you'll work alongside other staff

Some of our productions are licensed musicals and some are originally crafted. You should have an interest in both!

The ideal candidate has week day availability at least 2 days per week on MON/TUES/WED/THURS/FRI afternoons between 2:30PM-6:00PM seeking anywhere from 5-25 hours of work a week

Long term, year round employment available for the right candidate

Commuting to our space in Winchester is required for trainings, meetings, and production planning. You would need reliable transportation to surrounding north and northwest communities included but not limited to places like Lexington, Westwood, Watertown, Somerville, Boston, Belmont, Reading, etc.

You will be required to pass a CORI background check and any other identify/safety verification required by the schools we serve.

Most of our programming is not audition based and celebrates the joy of theater. While we employ a variety of professional artists, we do not focus on the techniques of professional acting, dancing, etc in our philosophy. We believe in the purpose of theater for a greater good, not solely in the pursuit of artistic talent.

Kidstockl is an arts education company focused on empowering young people to self-author their own productions through interactive story theater. 

Kidstock! offers after school classes for ages 4-12, summer camp for ages 4-15, birthday parties, off site enrichment programs, actor-educator residencies in public and private schools, professional staff development training and touring educational theater shows for live audiences.
