Sales Account Representative – Full Time

Description:

Cheng & Tsui, the leading publisher in Asian language and culture textbooks and supplements based in Boston, is seeking individuals with educational sales experience for the position of Sales Account Representative. The inside sales rep will help develop and execute strategic sales plans by contacting K-12 School and Higher Education language teachers, professors, and administrators, as well as resellers, libraries, institutes within their assigned territory to promote and sell our textbooks, supplements, and digital products while branding the company.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage a sales territory to increase annual baseline sales within the assigned territory

· Meet or exceed the annual sales goal(s) for your assigned territory

· Develop multi-channel outreach strategies with management and marketing to increase branding of company through outbound sales calls, emails, etc.

· Maintain customer records, input, update and track all leads in our Customer Relationship Management (Salesforce) database

· Build an active pipeline of prospective customers and new accounts to help with business development

· Develop and maintain positive, long-term professional relationships with customers

  • Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, and availability
  • Convey product features based on analyses of customers’ needs and on knowledge of product features
  • Recommend the correct products or assist customers in making product selections based on their needs and product specifications
  • Conduct product presentations, especially on the use of technology in the classroom
  • Travel to academic institutions and exhibit at conferences as needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues in editorial and marketing to exchange customer feedback, market information, product knowledge, and sales and marketing strategies

Qualifications:

REQUIRED:

· Bachelor's Degree required

· Experience in inside sales, customer service, publishing

· Knowledge of CRM (preferably Salesforce)

· Strong in planning, organizing, executing, and following through with work that requires attention to detail

· Motivated and committed to meeting and exceeding revenue goals

· Self-starter with the ability to work well independently and in a team environment

· Superior verbal, written, and general communication skills

PREFERRED:

· Knowledge of Asian language and culture and interest in education and effective pedagogy, especially in instructional technology

· Experience in world language teaching

· Speak an Asian language, preferably Mandarin Chinese
