Marketing Coordinator


Are you a creative communicator with exceptional organizational skills? Join the Historic New England marketing team and help share our region’s past with the audiences of today. The marketing coordinator oversees Historic New England’s marketing production schedule and social media calendar, executing e-blasts, social media campaigns, print promotional pieces, and other public-facing, branded material. The marketing coordinator provides exceptional customer service and works collaboratively with staff on multiple teams to engage new audiences, promote the Historic New England brand, and support strategic goals.

Responsibilities: Works with staff throughout Historic New England to develop schedule of digital and print promotional pieces, encompassing tours, public programs, exhibitions, school and youth programs, fundraising campaigns, and other audience-facing products and services. Oversees design and production of digital and print promotional materials, monitors deadlines, and works with vendors to obtain quotes. Works closely with senior marketing manager to develop calendar of social media posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other sites that raise visibility for Historic New England among arts and culture audiences and drive visitation to historic sites. Monitors engagement with Historic New England social media channels, connects with influencers, and interacts with followers as as necessary. Helps develop messaging for digital advertising campaigns. Creates and updates web content as assigned.

Location: Otis House, Boston, Mass.


A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field and at least two years job-related experience. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign. Experience with WordPress content management system, major social media platforms, and an e-marketing platform such as Constant Contact or WordFly. Ability to interact with outside vendors, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style. Exceptional organizational skills, consistent attention to detail, and the ability to consistently meet deadlines. Must be comfortable managing multiple projects at once. Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, stakeholders, and the public, exhibiting patience, diplomacy, and tact. Valid driver’s license.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:Experience using Tessitura or other CRM system. Experience editing audio and video content. Experience working with professional photographers. Up-to-date and continuously evolving knowledge of trends in museum and cultural tourism marketing.
