About this Organization:
The Heritage Chorale celebrates its 82nd season in 2018-2019. Originally named the Framingham Choral Society, the Chorale was founded in the fall of 1937 by a small group of Framingham residents. Ever since, except for a brief time during World War II, the Chorale has rehearsed and performed in Framingham and nearby communities. The Chorale currently has 80 members and performs 3 concerts a year. During its long history, the Chorale has performed a wide range of both classical and contemporary choral works. Most recently, the Chorale has presented works of contemporary composers Daniel Pinkham, Morten Lauridsen, and Randall Thompson, as well as the magnificent music of Mendelssohn, Mozart, Haydn, and Brahms. In February 1988, the Chorale began an annual production of lighter musical fare – a Pops-style program – often designed around themes and with popular pieces from opera, movies, and musical theater. The mission of the Heritage Chorale is to perform a wide variety of high-quality choral music and inspire in ourselves and our audience a greater love and understanding of music. We are committed to enriching the lives of singers, audiences, and our communities through education, performance and collaboration.
