School Administrative Manager
Urbanity Dance is looking to hire a full-time School Administrative Manager. The successful candidate will be the lead Administrator of Urbanity’s School, which serves over 500 students—babies, youth and adults—each week. Reporting to the Director of Education, the School Coordinator will manage a team of part-time staff and work study students and will aspire to achieve excellence in the administrative and operative functions of the School by providing outstanding customer service to our students and families.
Deliver excellent customer service as the lead interface with parents and students, including assisting with registration and billing (in person, via email and phone) and communicating school-related information and updates to families
Lead administrative processes involving School registration and enrollment on the Amilia database platform
Conduct regular enrollment, attendance, and waitlist reporting and analysis on Youth and Adult classes for Director of Education and Managing Director
Manage School budget and provide regular status updates to Director of Education and Managing Director
In collaboration with Director of Education, schedule classes across three studios and update class offerings in Amilia
In collaboration with the Director of Education, manage Urbanity’s Access for All Scholarship Fund
Coordinate student performances including year-end Student Showcase, quarterly Adult Showcases, Youth Company and Hop Hop Crew performances
Facilities management: assist with facility maintenance projects; maintain clean facilities in coordination with Finance and Operations Manager, Studio Coordinator, and Work Study students
Collaborate with Urbanity staff in a variety of cross-organizational / multi-departmental activities related to Community programs, the Company, Development, and Marketing
Supervise a Studio Coordinator and Work Study Volunteers
Additional administrative duties, as assigned
The School Administrative Manager is based at Urbanity Central, 725 Harrison Avenue, and serves as the primary administrator during a variety of Youth and Adult classes. The preferred schedule for this position is:
Tuesday through Thursday: 1pm to 9pm
Friday: 11am to 7pm
Saturday: 10am to 6pm
Please note, as a performing arts organization with performance and education programs, this role may require working morning, late afternoon and/or evening hours, as well as occasional weekend obligations surrounding performances and events.
Proficiency with MS Office/Google Apps
Customer service experience
Excellent customer service skills
Outgoing, proactive approach
Experience with/aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment and an organization that delivers many programs
Experience with Amilia class management platform
Experience with dance / other nonprofit arts organizations
Multi-lingual (Spanish, Haitian Creole, Mandarin/Cantonese)
