Program Coordinator

Description:

The NEMPAC Program Coordinator reports to the Educational Programs Director and Executive Director and supports the private and group music instruction program as well as daily operations. The role will work to sustain and grow enrollment in the program, retain faculty and students involved in the program, ensure the top-most quality of instruction is being delivered, and coordinate recitals and performance opportunities. The position will work up to 20 hours per week to start, with office hour flexibility. He/she should plan to be on-site during most peak instructional hours Monday to Friday between 3 pm and 6 pm. Occasional weekend and evening hours as needed.

Start Date: Flexible. Ideally late February - early March.


Responsibilities:


  • Coordination of Private / Group Lesson Program:

    • In collaboration with Educational Programs Director, hire any additional private or group lesson instructors.

    • Handle all incoming inquiries for private and group lessons

      • Working with our registrar, will collect schedules and assist in new student demos, placements, and on-site facilitation.

    • Work creatively to meet annual goals for enrollment, especially increasing adult participation

    • Work with Educational Program Director on recitals/special events / open mics for student performance opportunities

    • Coordinate Bi-Annual Student Studio Recitals for 12+ studios

    • Enforces organizational policies and ensures proper communication thereof

    • Regular communication with Educational Programs Director on any instructor issues that arise

    • Create and post one social media post per week (as neighborhood news) on our platforms reflecting private and group music instruction program special feature

    • Execute Student of the Month nomination and public acknowledgment

    • Other duties as assigned that pertain to educational programs, after-school offerings

    • Work with Marketing Manager on annual print material and collateral content for program


  • Coordatinor of Operations:

    • Daily to weekly check-in of instructional facilities in North End including the Prado Building, Tileston, and Hull Street.

    • Manage satellite (school partnership locations) instructional facilities and faculty

      • Charlestown School Partner Locations: Ensure smooth transition during weeks 1 and 2 of each session, and that each partner site is equipped with necessary materials

      • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for the satellite partner locations

    • Schedule routine piano maintenance and tunings

    • Communicates with Concert Series Manager on schedules and performances

Qualifications:
  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • Ability to problem solve quickly

  • Superior communication skills (writing and speaking)

  • Easy access to transportation, car is not required

  • Passionate about the arts and education, especially NEMPAC’s mission

  • Bachelor’s or degree in arts administration, education, business, music, or anything relevant to the position

  • Familiarity with North End and/or Charlestown neighborhoods and communities!

Salary:
